About Herniated Discs
A herniated disc occurs when material within an intervertebral disc moves beyond its normal position and may irritate nearby spinal nerves.
Symptoms vary depending on the location and severity of the disc problem.
Common Symptoms
Back or neck pain
Pain travelling into an arm or leg
Tingling or numbness
Nerve irritation
Pain with certain movements
Muscle weakness in some cases
Treatment Options
Depending on the patient's condition, options may include medication, epidural steroid injections and selected regenerative or intradiscal approaches.
The old clinic lists herniated discs among the indications for epidural steroid injections and also describes regenerative substances being delivered directly into damaged discs in selected cases. Ozone Pain Clinic
Individual Assessment
Not every disc herniation requires an intervention. Treatment decisions should be based on symptoms, examination and relevant imaging.
